JCFR Virtual Shaliach Lunch & Learn

For our final lunch and learn, we will hear from Waga Brok.

Born in Ethiopia, Waga made Aliyah to Israel as a part of Operation Solomon in 1991 and grew up in Afula. She completed her BA in Special Education and in Experiential Education. Currently, she serves as the education manager for Mechina Israelit Yemin Orde where she proudly leads an incredible group of young women prior to their national service. In June of 2020, Waga returned from 3 successful years as the Jewish Agency Israel Fellow to Champaign-Urbana Hillel. During her Shlichut, Waga was honored by both AIPAC as Campus ally of the year and the Maccabees Task Force. Her past work experience also includes working as a counselor at a boarding school, summer camp coordinator at Camp Kimama, and as a counselor at the JCC in Detroit. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Waga has a tremendous passion for informal education and empowering the next generation.
