Statement on anti-Semitic graffiti in Northern Virginia

The Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and it’s Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC), issued the following statement condemning the hateful and anti-Semitic graffiti at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia earlier today. We stand in solidarity with our friends in Northern Virginia.

The Jewish Community Relations Council of The Jewish Community Federation of Richmond joins with the Weinstein JCC and Virginia Holocaust Museum of Richmond, VA to condemn the hate and horror of the swastikas painted on the JCC of Northern Virginia earlier today. The anti-Semitic imagery placed on a warm and welcoming institution open to the entire Northern Virginia Community go against everything our Virginia Jewish and general community stand for.

We must come together to combat this rise in anti-Semitism with fierce condemnation and an abundance of love and unity. We will not allow hatred to go unchecked.

We urge anyone with information about the perpetrators to come forward. We have every confidence that law enforcement will investigate this incident thoroughly.

We call on all people of goodwill to recoil at these ideologies and tactics. We will remain vigilant in taking a stand against those who admire the atrocities of Nazism.
