For over 80 years the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond has supported Jews here in Richmond, Virginia and Jews in need across the globe. Our tradition of caring for the Jewish people is the foundation of the Jewish Community of Richmond’s mission and our fundraising efforts, partnerships with beneficiary agencies and international organizations, and our own programs help us fulfill this mission on a daily basis.
The Federation offers a lifetime of support to everyone we can reach. Whether it is a young Jewish child receiving the meaningful, Jewish-content books of the PJ Library, an isolated senior participating in an enriching senior/student program through RTA, or a war weary family in the Ukraine attending a Shabbat dinner at their community center, the Federation is there for anyone that needs its assistance. No matter your age, location, or beliefs, the Federation makes a difference in people’s lives at every step of the way.
JCFR programing and the services of our beneficiary agencies offers support for every stage of your life. Small children enrolled in our PJ Library program receive a monthly Jewish themed book that instills Jewish values in their young minds. Early childhood education (The Weinstein JCC and Aleph Bet Preschools) prepares our communities’ children for the future through the lens of Jewish ….
Rudlin Torah Academy continues the education ladder but ensures that children understand the concepts tzedakah (righteousness/charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Partnership2Gether, Taglit-Birthright, BBYO and Hillel programming continue to raise awareness about Israel and creates a strong tie to the global Jewish community.
